I Hid an Easter Egg on My Bear Blog. Can You Find It?
Somewhere on this site there's a page I haven't linked to. Good luck finding it.
Quick one today, I just really wanted to share this.
I spent a few evenings this week building a secret page on this website. It isn't linked anywhere — not in the nav, not in the footer. You have to actually go looking for it, and I don't want to spoil the surprise.
I used to love things like this as a kid. Finding a hidden room in a video game, a cheat code scrawled on the back of a magazine, a wall that wasn't really a wall. That specific feeling of being let in on something the developers made just for the people who bothered to poke around.
Most of the internet doesn't really feel like that anymore, does it? Everything feels like it is optimised to keep you scrolling, not to delight you. (which is exactly what makes Bear Blog and the slow / indie web so much fun). So I made something small and pointless and silly, purely because I love the web having these little pockets of personality tucked into its corners.
I had a genuinely great time coding this. And that's really the whole post: I made a thing, I enjoyed making it, and now I'd love to know if anyone actually finds it.
No hints. Go poke around. If you find it, tell me — I'll be delighted!
